This was the slogan Laure (my granddaughter) chose to write on her very first protest sign, which she proudly wore on Sunday, March 18. She passed it on to me as a gift. What a swell gift. I have her permission to share the photo.
In exchange, I donned her sign at the recent demonstration at Loyola, as did Antoni Abad (Barcelona) who was at Loyola for a 3 day visit to the Mobile Media Lab.
Laure loves reading, writing, drawing, discussing- and studying. To study is important, as she so succinctly writes … “étudier est important”.

After reviewing the government’s funding plan and GEOGRADS response to it, members of the Concordia faculty have drafted a letter in response to the government. The letter broadens the debate over university funding beyond the issue of tuition hikes. A major concern of the signatories is the shift in the budget away from public funding in favour of a privately funded model. They are concerned about the impacts such a shift may have on higher education and research. Find below the text of the letter or click below if you wish to download a copy.
